My name is Blanca Garcia. I am the one who holds the pen (actually, the one who taps on the keyboard) of this website and I am delighted to share with you the idea behind Forty-something.com and how it all started.

How it all started

In late 2008, I decided to stop moaning about my forthcoming 40th birthday and decided to put my thoughts on the subject to good use by creating a website dedicated to women in their forties: Forty-something.com.

The idea was born when I realized that there are many websites offering information for women, but there was an evident need for a specialized and informational site that delivered a full range of valuable articles and practical tips especially written with the forty-something woman in mind.

I am a communicator by profession with over 15 years of experience building and implementing communications strategies for various prestigious international brands, and this came very handy during the creation and development of Forty-something.com.

With the help of a team of professional beauty advisers, I managed to build in record time this community website, which won its first award only a couple of months after its launch. 

It has been a great source of satisfaction to receive a continuous flow of positive feedback through our discussion panels and by email.  Your comments have helped me make this a place you want to come back to again and again for information and advice ... and I thank you for that with all my heart!
